Application of Nearpod in a Student’s View (Week 9)

Image
In the ICT course, Professor Tilly used the Nearpod website. I remember the last class where students were divided into groups and had to complete different tasks based on Nearpod's PowerPoint and return to the classroom. There were five of us in the group, and the tasks included taking a group photo in front of a grocery store and asking the staff about the number of employees working in the shop and the number of hours they worked per day and per week. In addition, a group photo was taken with one of the staff. The staff member we asked was kind enough to help us determine the number of employees and asked if we were doing social work. When he heard that we were completing classroom tasks, he recognized our behaviour and thought it was a good way to learn. We were supposed to be one of the first few groups to complete the task, which was a very novel experience. After the lesson I explored the use of Nearpod on my own. Overall it can help teachers to create rich and interesting P...

Image
General Information S impleshow video maker is an online tool that helps customers create simple, professional explainer videos — without needing any animation or video editing skills . Video Production Method Demonstration Making a video consists of three main steps, namely story, visualize and finalize. In the story step, you need to provide the topic, keywords, main characters and other factors for the website to write the story, of course, you can also create your own story. In addition, you can choose the style of the video to better match the audience. Since I chose AI to write the story, after filling in the relevant information, AI will present a text for me to edit as shown below. This is followed by the second step, the visualisation of the text, which corresponds to the sketch to form a simple video clip. After the above and a second check, the final version of the video can be output and quizzes can be added as required. Implication in Language Teaching 1. Vocabulary Introd...

Introducing Speechling: A Customized Platform for Learners to Improve Speaking Skills (week 6)

Image
An Introduction to Educaplay Educaplay is a n educational games maker that enhances your audience’s motivation by transforming your content into engaging learning games in just seconds.   To get a feel for the effect of this tool, I chose the game crossword puzzle from the options it offers. The game is generally given a rectangular table. The table is divided into a number of squares of the same size, which form a number of intersecting rows and columns of varying lengths. Students fill in the rows and columns with letters to form the correct word according to the information given in the question, with only one letter in each square. A Customised Game To get an idea of the experience of using this game, I chose 8 words based on common stationery vocabulary for primary school students and composed the game shown below. Points are awarded for spelling a word correctly and deducted for spelling it incorrectly. The game can be played by more than one player at the same time, and a le...
